This week Bob and I continue our journey through the UK as we make our way to a Scottish Beer that can sometimes present itself as a bit boozy. In this episode we discuss Scottish Wee Heavy. This is a beer that brings a lot of breadiness and toast like qualities along with a bit of caramel/toffee. If you’re into a maltier beer that often packs quite a punch then the Scottish Wee Heavy might be exactly what you need.

3. The Duck Rabbit Wee Heavy Scotch-Style Ale
· ABV: 6.5-10%
· IBUs: 17-35
· Color: 14-25
Our sample beer for the week: Founders Dirty Bastard 8.5% and 50IBU
Beer as described by brewer: So good it’s almost wrong. Dark ruby in color and brewed with seven varieties of imported malts. Complex in finish, with hints of smoke and peat, paired with a malty richness and a right hook of hop power to give it the bad attitude that a beer named Dirty Bastard has to live up to. Ain’t for the wee lads.
