Pint Talking

Apr 14, 2023

This week I traveled out to Grafton, Ohio and visited Franklin Brewing Company. My guest was Aaron Schickel who is the owner/brewer at FBC. Aaron has been operating Franklin Brewing Company for 10 years and recently they have relocated from the residential garage where it all began to a new location on Main St. in the village of Grafton. We talked about why it took 8 years before he finally decided to make the move and how difficult the entire process was once a new location was chosen, and despite what you may think, the issue was not entirely related to state licensing. Despite having the new location open for just one month Aaron is brewing some very solid beer, which I of course sampled. During the interview we drank:

·      Anthony’s Afterwit – Wheat beer 5.75%

·      Ben’s Brown – Brown Ale 5.4%

·      America’s Gold – Kolsch 4.6%

·      1724 English Ale – ESB 6%
